CHA Gangnam Medical Center was established in Yeoksam-dong in 1984 based on CHA Gynecology, which opened in 1960. Founded on patient-centric medical services and the outcome of world-renown infertility research, CHA Gangnam Medical Center became a leading women’s hospital in Korea. While dividing the gynecology department into the obstetrics, infertility, and gynecology divisions, sophisticated and specialized centers for internal medicine and surgery were established to provide customized treatments that suit the life cycle of women for diseases such as gynecologic cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, breast cancer, and thyroid cancer. In 2021, the hospital performed over 3,000 successful robotic surgeries for the first time among Korean gynecologists.
