Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital is a medical institution with a long history and tradition that started in 1887 as Bogunyeogwan (house for many sick women), which was the first women’s hospital in Korea. Nurturing its strength in the domains of the education, treatment, and research of women, the hospital specialized and fostered the treatment of cancers that occur in women, such as breast cancer, thyroid cancer, uterine cancer, and ovarian cancer, and also the treatment of urological cancer, such as bladder cancer (artificial bladder), prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and adrenal cancer to equip itself with differentiated competitiveness. The hospital also offers differentiated center-focused medical services for severe diseases, such as stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, and cardiovascular diseases and for chronic adult diseases, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.
