The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Organization held the 2023 Seoul Medical and Wellness Tourism Cooperation Project Contest to experience the medical tourism expertise and speciality of the attractive city of Seoul through world-class medical services and wellness tourism infrastructure.

The Seoul Medical Wellness Tourism Cooperation Project Contest was designed as a pilot project in 2022 to respond to the growth and demand of medical tourism in Seoul, which has global competitiveness.

It mainly developed medical services in the early stages of the public offering business, and this year, it focused on the development of wellness services.


Hospitals, wellness institutions, Medical agency and other tourism services with skills and diversity participated in the contest as a consortium to emphasize the special strengths and attractions of Seoul medical tourism to foreign tourists.

A total of six teams from 20 institutions participated in the contest, which began on April 10 and ran until May 12, and the top four teams that proposed wedding health checkups, cooperation between western and Korean medicine and luxurious accommodation as medical and wellness model products, based on feasibility, and effectiveness.


Asan Medical Center planned the "AMC X Signiel in Seoul Package," which combines proposal events, wedding health checkups, luxury spas and local partnerships, paying attention to small and high-quality wedding trends.

It is a product designed to allow foreign tourists who are about to get married to spend the most important memories of life in Seoul. It is proposed as a luxury full-service that connects remote consultation before entering Korea, Signiel Seoul accommodation, Asan Medical Center health checkup or outpatient treatment, Retreat Signiel Spa to experience healthy beauty, and remote consultation after returning home.


MEDIROUND Co., Ltd. proposed “Western and Korean medicine cooperation program Using Global E-Commerce.”

As a product to provide true wellness care by combining Western medicine and Korean medicine, Hanshin Medipia's health check-up, diet and skin care of Kim Jeong-guk Korean Medicine Clinic and MYUNGOKHUN ORIENTAL BEAUTY&MENTAL CLINIC, and oriental medicine wellness experience at the Seoul-K Medi Center are organically connected to the MediRound concierge and also operates the 'My Cody' platform that allows users to enjoy medical tourism services without language barriers.

It plans to focus on attracting Southeast Asian tourists through the sale of cooperation between western and Korean medicine Wellness Package through the global e-commerce platform.


Ko&C Co., Ltd.'s "Feel the Wonderful Seoul!" program, which aims to expand the medical tourism market with the collaboration of the Seoul Medical Tourism Alliance.  is a four-day, five-night program that offers skin care, spa, and k-medical at THE CLINIC in Shilla Hotel, tea therapy at Tea Experience Center of the Seoul K Medi Center, and red ginseng beauty care at Spa1899 Daechi flagship store, as well as walking and shopping in Gonjiam Hwadam Forest, K-pop performances, and accommodation at a five star hotell.


Infinity Care Co., Ltd. proposed a "one-day healthy Seoul medical tour with Russian influencer.“

It will be planned to provide various medical consultations such as Hanshin Medipia health check-up and Yeo Yongguk Korean SPA as well as ophthalmology, dentistry, dermatology, and plastic surgery, which are Seoul medical tourism alliance.

The strategy is to discover potential customers by continuously promoting Seoul's differentiated medical infrastructure on Russia's SNS through this product.


The four Seoul medical and wellness tourism products, which were finally selected for the 2023 Seoul Medical and Wellness Tourism Cooperation Project, will be promoted as actual projects by November this year, and each team will receive up to 10 million won (including VAT).


Hwang Mi-jung, head of the Seoul Tourism Organization‘s global 2nd team, said, “As the medical tourism ecosystem is changing from disease treatment to prevention, we will continue to cooperate in enhancing the global status of Seoul medical tourism by combining the medical and wellness market”.
